At Grade Eh Farms our primary focus is poultry and a few select seeds. Our breeding programs are integral to preserve some of the rarest and oldest heritage lines of poultry genetics in the world.
We are a small family operation. We fill live chick orders and backyard chicken market before fresh chicken orders. The way we have chosen to do business allows us to keep our genetics strong and healthy. It is also the most sustainable and ethical way of doing business we have found in today's marketplace.
Our birds are fed the best quality of food we can source. We reach out to local distributors and grow what we can for them right here at the farm.
The majority of our birds are grown on pasture with unencumbered freedom. While the remainder are grown in portable chicken tractors that allow movement to fresh grass and a supplemental diet of bugs and greens.
We are proud to raise some of the best tasting chickens in Canada.
You should give it a try. Quantities are very limited due to our short growing season and commitment to only raise food during proper seasons with access to sunshine and grasses that allow a chicken to be a true heritage chicken just like grandma and grandpa used to raise.
Please email us if you would like to talk more about poultry as well as any orders you would like to place.
We can tell you that a Canadian Bresse chicken tastes superior to most other birds that we have found due to the large amount of dark meat. However, we are experimenting with several finishing techniques that make the birds even better. We will offer Blackberry Bresse next year as it went over really well in our house this year.
